Charmaine Leung (performing as D.M. Charmaine) is a Vancouver-based Chinese-Canadian independent singer-songwriter whose music blends introspective lyricism with a distinctively East-Asian sensibility. Her sound carries hints of Asian indie-pop — subtle, melodic, and emotionally resonant.Classically trained on piano and violin, Charmaine later found joy in jamming with friends and creating heartfelt songs that bridge personal storytelling with gentle, genre-blurring arrangements. Her music often explores themes of memories and faith.A recent graduate of Langara College’s Digital Music Production program, she is also passionate about scoring for visual media — pairing her sensitivity as a songwriter with a cinematic ear for mood and atmosphere. Whether writing in English, Cantonese, or Mandarin, Charmaine crafts songs with an intimate touch, often layering delicate acoustic textures with soft electronics and warm, ambient tones.As she continues to write, perform, and collaborate, D.M. Charmaine is quietly building a body of work that reflects her bicultural roots and artistic curiosity — music that invites listeners to pause, reflect, and feel.
